Required Skills:
We’re looking for a hands‑on Data Center Technician to support live data center operations, hardware maintenance, structured cabling, and on‑site technical tasks. If you enjoy working with servers, network gear, and real infrastructure, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily data center health checks, rack inspections, and incident support
- Handle server installation, rack & stack, de‑racking, and break/fix activities
- Replace components: HDD/SSD, RAM, PSU, NIC, motherboard
- Install and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and basic connectivity issues
- Execute structured cabling: copper/fiber patching, labeling, cable dressing
- Conduct hardware diagnostics, log collection, and pre‑vendor triage
- Support basic Linux/Windows Server tasks (disk mounting, DHCP/IP config, OS recovery)
- Provide Remote Hands / Smart Hands assistance for engineering teams
- Manage inventory, spare parts, asset tagging, and documentation
- Coordinate power ops, environmental checks, maintenance windows with facility teams
- Work through ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy for tickets, changes, and incident reports
- (Preferred) Assist with VMware/Hyper‑V: VM provisioning, IP allocation, basic troubleshooting
Ideal Candidate
- Hands-on experience in data center or hardware support roles
- Strong understanding of server hardware, cabling standards, and network fundamentals
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high‑availability environments
- Clear communicator who can coordinate with vendors, carriers, and cross-functional teams
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Server+
- CompTIA Network+
- CCNA (preferred)
- Dell EMC / HPE / Lenovo Server Hardware Certifications (good to have)
