Position: Linux Systems Engineer

Duration: 1 year+ contract

Role Overview:

Support and maintain Linux-based infrastructure for banking production systems, ensuring high availability and operational stability across a 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily Linux system administration — user management, patching, performance monitoring
• Write and maintain Bash/Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and routine maintenance tasks
• Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot production incidents during shift hours
• Handle incident, problem, and change management tickets (ITIL-aligned)
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
• Work rotational shifts (including night shifts) to provide round-the-clock coverage for banking systems
• Escalate critical issues per defined SOPs and coordinate with L2/L3 teams
• Maintain documentation of processes, runbooks, and incident reports

Mandatory Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and troubleshooting
• Willingness to work 24/7 rotational shifts or fixed night shifts
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS)

Good to Have:

• Experience in banking/financial services environment
• Exposure to monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, SolarWinds)
• ITIL process familiarity
• Basic scripting in Python

Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
