Job Description

Test Engineer II

Job Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in CFT and customer meetings to ensure customer requirements are strictly followed, test issues are resolved promptly, and data is communicated effectively.
  • Serve as the core Test Engineering representative on the Customer Focus Team (CFT).
  • Collaborate directly with the customer to implement an adequate Test Strategy for New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure readiness to meet NPI timelines.
  • Develop, modify, and validate test scripts and software programs to ensure functional testing of PCBAs requirements are met.
  • Approve the buy-off to ensure equipment and test fixtures meet technical specifications from customers and are manufacturing ready.
  • Collaborate with the Test Maintenance team to escalate equipment breakdowns, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, and resolve hardware or fixture issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Deploy In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT), and System Test, where applicable, for production and ensure optimal test coverage and cycle time.
  • Lead failure debug activities and perform Failure Analysis (FA) to identify the assignable root cause. Work collaboratively within the CFT to resolve issues and secure advice/disposition directly from the customer when needed.
  • Monitor and analyze test data to identify trends, implement test yield improvements, and reduce "no-fault-found" (NFF) rates.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and execute projects to enhance test process efficiency, reduce cycle times, and optimize overall operations.
  • Execute Engineering Change Notices (ECN) accurately and timely.
  • Ensure all testing processes and equipment strictly comply with company quality standards, ISO 13485 medical regulatory requirements, 5S methodologies, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols.
  • Write and update test procedures, and train Technicians and Operators. Prepare presentation slides for project status and improvement plans to present to the CFT and customer.
  • Update Industrial Engineering (IE) with any changes in resource hours.
  • Secure Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) budgets from customers for spares and calibration where applicable.
  • Ensure required Test indirect materials are within min/max levels and monitor expiry dates where applicable.
  • Perform monthly Test Capacity studies.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in related fields is preferred.
  • Preferably with good knowledge of Electronics.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and related medical device manufacturing requirements is preferred.

ICT / FCT knowledge is highly preferred.

  • Programming knowledge is highly preferred. Proficient in MS Office/ Google Suite applications. Knowledge of different Operating Systems and Networking.
  • Knowledge in using measuring instruments and schematic reading.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (critical for customer and CFT interactions).
