Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to manage supplier quality performance, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary interface between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to drive quality defect prevention, audit compliance, and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Quality Management & KPIs: Monitor supplier quality performance (PPM, defect rate, delivery, and CAPA effectiveness) and drive improvement plans to achieve quality targets.
- PPAP & NPI Qualification: Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions, FAI, and trial builds across plastics, electronics, packaging, and mechanical components during new product introductions.
- Defect Investigation & 8D: Lead supplier defect investigations using 8D methodology, root cause analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA to implement lasting corrective/preventive actions.
- Supplier Audits & Assessments: Conduct process and quality system audits at supplier facilities to evaluate manufacturing capabilities and process controls.
- Cross-Functional & Vendor Liaison: Work closely with IQC, Production, Engineering, and Customer Quality teams to execute containment actions, handle escalations, and support supplier development.
Job Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) or Quality Engineering. Experience in plastics, electronics, mechanical, or consumer product manufacturing is preferred.
- Quality Methodologies & Tools: Expertise in PPAP, APQP, 8D problem-solving, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, 7 QC Tools, and drawing/blueprint interpretation.
- Audit & Component Knowledge: Hands-on experience conducting supplier audits and knowledge of plastic, electrical/electronic, packaging, and mechatronic component quality.
- Soft Skills & Flexibility: Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills using MS Office; willing to travel for supplier audits.
Pay: RM4,400.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
