Job Summary
We are looking for a driven
Project Engineer / Site Engineer
to oversee and manage fire protection system installation projects. In this role, you will coordinate field operations, manage site supervisors and subcontractors, and collaborate closely with consultants and main contractors to deliver fully compliant, high-quality fire safety solutions from project inception through testing and commissioning.
Roles & Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Quality Control
Daily Site Oversight:
Monitor daily construction activities and ensure all installation works are carried out correctly and safely according to project specifications.
Setting Out & Inspection:
Perform setting out checks, verify levels, alignments, dimensions, and exact locations of fire protection installations.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect completed works, organize formal site inspections with main contractors and consultants, and ensure materials and workmanship meet project standards and code requirements.
Technical Coordination & Problem Solving
Drawing Interpretation & Clash Resolution:
Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to resolve technical discrepancies, spatial clashes, and site constraints on-site.
System Execution:
Apply sound engineering fundamentals to support the installation, compliance, and integration of fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, hose reel, hydrant, rising main, emergency communication, and gas suppression systems.
Project Progress & Stakeholder Management
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate daily with project directors, main contractors, subcontractors, foremen, suppliers, architects, and structural engineers to align operational timelines.
Progress Tracking:
Track site progress against the master construction programme, identify potential delays early, and report updates directly to the Project Director.
Meetings:
Attend regular site, technical, and coordination meetings with client representatives, main contractors, and consultants.
Site Documentation & Workplace Safety
Comprehensive Documentation:
Prepare daily site reports, Requests for Inspection (RFI), method statements, checklists, and accurate as-built records.
Safety Adherence:
Ensure all site personnel strictly follow project risk assessments and safety procedures, taking immediate action to rectify or report unsafe conditions.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
Professional Certificate / NiTEC, Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent field.
Experience:
1 to 3 years of relevant site execution experience in fire protection or MEP engineering.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong understanding of fire protection system components, installation practices, and technical drawing navigation.
Soft Skills & Literacy:
Proficient in English (spoken and written) and computer literate to handle project documentation and communication smoothly.
Attributes:
Proactive, adaptable fast-learner with good problem-solving capabilities under tight site deadlines.
