Job Summary
You will conduct quality inspections and coordinate QA/QC activities for corrosion protection, protective coating, lining, waterproofing, and concrete repair works to ensure compliance with technical standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities
Conduct quality inspections for ongoing and completed site works to ensure compliance with project requirements
Inspect corrosion protection, protective coating, lining, waterproofing, concrete repair, and related construction works for quality and adherence to standards
Verify incoming materials by checking product type, batch number, expiry date, and relevant certificates before use
Ensure all works follow approved method statements, specifications, drawings, and manufacturers' technical data sheets
Inspect surface preparation and substrate conditions prior to coating or repair works to confirm readiness
Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, relative humidity, and dew point when required for quality assurance
Measure and record Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) to verify coating application standards
Perform visual inspections to identify coating defects or workmanship issues and document findings
Coordinate quality testing and inspections with relevant parties to maintain project quality standards
Prepare Inspection Requests (IR/RFI), QC checklists, inspection reports, test reports, and photographic records for documentation
Maintain material certificates, calibration certificates, and other QA/QC project documentation accurately
Identify non-conforming works and collaborate with project and site teams to ensure timely rectification
Conduct re-inspections after rectification and follow up until all quality issues are resolved
Coordinate inspections with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders
Assist with final inspections, punch-list/defect clearance, and project handover documentation to close out projects
Ensure measuring and testing equipment used for QC activities have valid calibration certificates
Perform additional QA/QC duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building, Construction, or related discipline
Experience in QA/QC, construction, corrosion protection, protective coating, waterproofing, concrete repair, or related specialist works
Knowledge of surface preparation and protective coating inspection techniques
Familiarity with WFT/DFT measurement and coating inspection equipment
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and product technical data sheets
Basic knowledge of relevant quality and coating standards
Strong documentation and report-writing skills
Effective communication and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with site personnel, clients, and consultants
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high workmanship and quality standards
Willingness and ability to work at different project sites across Singapore as required
