Tanggungjawab

This internship is designed for individuals who enjoy following financial and business developments and turning information into useful insights. Rather than focusing on a single area, the role provides exposure to different aspects of the financial and business landscape, allowing you to build a broader understanding of how markets, companies, economic conditions and consumer behaviour interact.

You will work with publicly available information and a variety of research materials to investigate topics, identify meaningful developments and support ongoing business and educational initiatives. The role combines independent research with analytical thinking, written communication and practical project work.

What You Will Work On

Your projects may vary depending on current business priorities. Some assignments may involve understanding a recent market event, examining an industry or company, investigating a financial trend or preparing research material for an upcoming initiative.

Typical areas of work may include:

  • Tracking developments across financial markets, industries and the wider economy
  • Investigating companies, sectors and emerging commercial trends
  • Reviewing economic data, company announcements, financial publications and market reports
  • Gathering information from reputable sources and assessing its relevance
  • Cross-checking facts and identifying inconsistencies between different sources
  • Exploring the factors behind significant financial and business developments
  • Organising findings into research notes, summaries and briefing materials
  • Assisting with background research for business projects and communications
  • Highlighting key observations and potential implications from research
  • Supporting the preparation of educational and digital materials
  • Keeping research materials organised, accurate and up to date

Throughout the internship, you may encounter a variety of subjects relating to finance, economics and financial decision-making.

These may include:

  • Global financial markets
  • Equities, bonds, ETFs and REITs
  • Interest rates and monetary policy
  • Inflation and economic indicators
  • Business and economic cycles
  • Market sentiment and investor behaviour
  • Investment trends and emerging themes
  • Consumer spending and personal finance
  • Saving and financial planning
  • Developments affecting businesses and households

You may be asked to examine a particular event or trend and consider how it could affect different groups, such as businesses, investors or consumers.

For example, a project could involve examining how an interest-rate change affects borrowing costs, how changing consumer behaviour influences an industry, or how broader economic conditions affect business performance.

Turning Research Into Communication

Research is only useful when its findings can be understood and applied. As part of the internship, you may therefore contribute to the process of converting research findings into clear and accessible communication.

Depending on the project, this could involve assisting with:

  • Market and economic updates
  • Financial education materials
  • Articles and research-based written content
  • Social media concepts
  • Video topics and scripts
  • Infographic concepts
  • Digital campaigns
  • Presentation decks
  • Internal research summaries
  • Educational resources

You will also have opportunities to suggest topics for further exploration when you identify developments that may be relevant or interesting.

Exposure Beyond Financial Markets

The role may also introduce you to areas that sit at the intersection of finance, business and long-term planning.

Depending on the projects available, you may gain exposure to subjects such as:

Wealth & Financial Planning
Understanding how individuals approach savings, investments, financial goals and long-term wealth accumulation.

Estate & Legacy Planning
Exploring topics surrounding Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, succession, estate administration and intergenerational wealth transfer.

Business & Ownership
Examining business ownership, succession considerations, continuity planning and the financial issues faced by business owners.

This broader perspective allows you to see how financial decisions extend beyond markets and investments into areas involving families, businesses, assets and long-term objectives.

Selected interns may also gain exposure to professional discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions and industry-related learning opportunities.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious and enjoys finding out how things work.

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Follow financial, economic or business news
  • Enjoy investigating questions and unfamiliar topics
  • Have an interest in markets, investing, economics or personal finance
  • Are comfortable working with large amounts of information
  • Can identify the important points within a lengthy source
  • Approach information critically rather than accepting everything at face value
  • Can explain ideas clearly in writing or conversation
  • Pay close attention to accuracy and detail
  • Are willing to work independently and take responsibility for assigned projects
  • Can adapt when priorities or project requirements change
  • Enjoy learning across different areas rather than being restricted to one subject

What You Can Gain

The internship provides practical experience in understanding and communicating real-world financial and business information.

Through your project work, you can develop stronger capabilities in:

  • Financial and business research
  • Market and economic awareness
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Information evaluation and source verification
  • Research organisation and synthesis
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Financial education and communication
  • Professional presentation
  • Independent project execution

Depending on your assignments, you may also have the opportunity to produce tangible work such as research summaries, market briefs, presentations, scripts, educational materials and other project outputs that demonstrate your development throughout the internship.
