The role directly leads sales and market-development priorities while working across Technical Service, Supply Chain, Finance and regional functions to ensure reliable customer delivery.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Country Manager operates within approved strategies, budgets and authority limits.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Execution & Growth

  • Translate Group priorities and the approved Malaysia business plan into practical sales initiatives, account plans and execution milestones.
  • Deliver agreed revenue, gross profit, new-business and pipeline targets across priority B2B segments, including hospitality, workplaces and food service.
  • Lead customer acquisition, key-account development, tenders and commercial negotiations within delegated authority.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, sales forecasting, pricing execution and follow-up through the designated systems.
  • Identify market opportunities and provide timely customer, competitor and category insights to regional teams.

Customer & Market Development

  • Build trusted relationships with strategic customers, prospects, partners and relevant industry stakeholders.
  • Coordinate customer engagement, trade events, product launches and local brand-building initiatives with Commercial and Marketing teams.
  • Support the resolution of priority customer issues and escalate material commercial or reputational risks promptly.

Cross-Functional Business Coordination

  • Run regular operating reviews with Sales, Technical Service, Supply Chain, Finance and other support functions to track priorities and resolve execution gaps.
  • Coordinate demand forecasts, stock requirements, machine availability, installations and service readiness to support the commercial plan.
  • Drive practical process improvements that strengthen responsiveness, data quality, productivity and customer experience.
  • Respect regional functional ownership and escalate decisions outside delegated authority to the Chief Operating Officer or relevant functional leader.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Contribute to annual budgeting, periodic forecasts and business reviews by providing reliable commercial assumptions and action plans.
  • Monitor sales, gross profit, operating expenses and working-capital indicators against approved targets.
  • Manage controllable commercial expenditure within delegated limits and support credit collection and contract discipline.
  • Prepare concise, accurate management reports covering performance, risks, opportunities and required decisions.

People Leadership & Development

  • Set clear goals and performance expectations for direct reports, with regular coaching, feedback and development follow-up.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable and customer-focused way of working across teams, even where there is no direct reporting line.
  • Strengthen sales capability, product readiness and technical execution discipline within the Malaysia team.
  • Actively develop broader country-management capability through exposure to operations, finance, people matters, risk and governance.

Key Performance Outcomes

  • Achievement of agreed revenue, gross profit, new-account and qualified-pipeline targets.
  • Accurate sales forecasts and disciplined execution of account and commercial action plans.
  • Improved strategic-customer growth, retention and satisfaction.
  • Effective cross-functional follow-through on inventory, installation, service and collection priorities.
  • Demonstrated growth in financial, operational, people-leadership and governance capability.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management or a related discipline.
  • At least 6–8 years of progressive commercial or business-development experience, including experience leading a team or major market portfolio.
  • Proven B2B sales and key-account track record in HORECA, food service, beverage solutions or equipment distribution.
  • Good commercial and financial acumen, including sales forecasting, gross-margin management, budgeting and performance analysis.
  • Hands-on, analytical and customer-focused, with strong ownership, judgement and follow-through.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Willing and able to travel within Malaysia when required.
