As a Mechanical Engineer in our Property team, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality consulting services. This may include undertaking relevant modelling, analytical work and design within your business area. There will be a structured career plan and development program to support you in attaining the desired level of knowledge and skills.

The Opportunity

• Undertake hands-on concept and detailed Mechanical design across a diverse range of property and building projects, which may include commercial, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, institutional and other complex developments.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Undertake project and team administration duties, including producing project-related correspondence and reports.
• Work directly with clients, architects and other professionals with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities.
• Support the delivery of integrated building services solutions, working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage small project teams, developing and administering appropriate project monitoring and control mechanisms while delivering quality work within the MEP team.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects by balancing technical quality, client requirements, programme and commercial considerations.

Is this role right for you?

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 4 years of mechanical building services design experience, ideally within an engineering consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering mechanical design across a range of property or building projects.
• Strong technical capability in mechanical building services design, with experience across relevant systems such as HVAC and associated building services.
• Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies, or significant progress towards eligibility for membership.
• Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients, architects, engineers and other project stakeholders.
• Experience managing packages of work and/or supporting the delivery of small multidisciplinary project teams would be advantageous.
