Job Summary
The IT Intern will support the company’s day-to-day internal IT operations, including user support, hardware and software administration, asset management, system access management, basic network troubleshooting, and IT documentation.
This position provides practical exposure to corporate IT operations, cybersecurity practices, IT governance, and the management of technology used by employees within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Helpdesk & User Support
- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, email, network, and system-related issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting laptops, desktops, printers, internet connectivity, VPN, Microsoft 365, and other company applications.
- Record, track, and follow up on reported IT issues until resolution.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT personnel or service provider.
2. IT Asset Management
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of company IT assets, including laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Support the issuance, return, transfer, and verification of IT assets.
- Assist with periodic IT asset inventory and physical verification.
- Ensure asset information such as serial numbers, assigned users, locations, and statuses is properly recorded.
3. User Account & Access Management
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding activities related to IT.
- Support the creation, modification, suspension, and removal of user accounts and system access based on approved requests.
- Assist with periodic access reviews to ensure access remains appropriate.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for access-related activities.
4. Microsoft 365 & Internal Systems Support
- Provide basic support for Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Assist with user account and license administration.
- Support employees in resolving common Microsoft 365 issues.
- Assist in maintaining other internal business applications used by the company.
5. Network & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity issues.
- Support the IT team in monitoring and maintaining network devices and office IT infrastructure.
- Assist with basic configuration, testing, and documentation of network equipment where required.
- Support troubleshooting activities involving internal systems and external IT service providers.
6. IT Security & Compliance
- Assist with basic cybersecurity monitoring and security-related administrative activities.
- Support endpoint security, antivirus, email security, and device compliance activities.
- Assist with periodic user access reviews and IT security checks.
- Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives for employees.
- Follow company IT security policies, procedures, and access control requirements.
7. IT Documentation
- Assist in preparing and maintaining IT procedures, user guides, asset records, system documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
- Update IT inventory, access control records, and system information when changes occur.
- Ensure IT documentation is organized and kept up to date.
8. IT Operations & Projects
- Support ongoing IT improvement and infrastructure projects.
- Assist with software installation, device preparation, system testing, and deployment activities.
- Perform basic research and evaluation of IT tools or technologies when requested.
- Provide administrative and technical support for other IT-related activities as assigned.
Pay: RM1,000.00 per month
