Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Officer to oversee and ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations in our civil engineering, marine, and dredging projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of environmental protection measures, with a strong focus on sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 and project requirements.
- Develop, update, and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and associated documentation.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and ensure compliance with EIA conditions.
- Perform regular site inspections, audits, and monitoring of environmental parameters such as water quality, air quality, noise levels, and marine biodiversity.
- Ensure all dredging, reclamation, and marine construction activities comply with environmental permits, laws, and regulatory guidelines.
- Liaise with local environmental authorities (e.g., DOE, Marine Department, local councils) for approvals, reporting, and compliance matters.
- Monitor waste management practices including storage, segregation, disposal, and recycling according to regulations.
- Investigate and report any environmental incidents, non-conformances, or complaints, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit timely environmental reports, monitoring data, and documentation to stakeholders and regulators.
- Conduct environmental awareness training and induction for staff, workers, and subcontractors.
- Promote environmental sustainability practices across all project phases.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Marine Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance or management, preferably in civil engineering, marine, or dredging projects.
- Sound knowledge of Malaysian Environmental Quality Act, relevant marine environmental guidelines, and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Experience with marine environmental monitoring, sediment control, and coastal impact mitigation is an advantage.
- Competent in preparing and interpreting environmental monitoring data and reports.
- Able to communicate effectively with project teams, regulatory authorities, and subcontractors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental reporting software.

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
