Position: Leader, Commercial Sales MY, LWT APAC

Overview

The successful leader will will hold full strategic and commercial accountability for the Malaysia business unit’s P&L and sales growth.

Reporting directly to the Leader, SG & MY, LWT APAC, this role is purely focused on driving top-line revenue and bottom-line profitability through Malaysia’s B2B and trade networks, specifically Project Sales and Traditional Trade. This role leads the local sales teams while leveraging the shared regional Operations team (Sales Administration and Aftersales) for back-end execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management & P&L Ownership (Malaysia)
• Malaysia P&L Ownership: Take complete ownership of the top-line revenue, gross margins, and net profitability (EBITDA) for the Malaysia business entity.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual sales budgets, commercial resource allocation, and rolling sales forecasts for the Malaysian market.
• Commercial Margin Management: Monitor local discounting structures, commercial expenses, and pricing strategies to protect and maximize profitability.
• Commercial & Sales Leadership (Malaysia Only)
• Dual-Channel Strategy: Define, execute, and scale growth strategies across Malaysia’s two key commercial pillars:
• Sales Performance: Establish, monitor, and achieve clear KPIs for the Malaysian sales team, ensuring a high-performing culture and robust pipeline velocity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration (No Direct Operations)
• Operational Alignment: Partner closely with the regional Operations team (Sales Admin & Aftersales) to ensure Malaysian client orders are processed smoothly and aftersales services are fulfilled efficiently.
• Process Compliance: Ensure the Malaysian sales team adheres to company compliance protocols, order submission timelines, and credit control procedures.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Team Leadership: Mentor, lead, and develop the local Malaysian Project, PCS and Trade sales teams.
• Strategic Reporting: Act as a key strategic partner and direct report to the SG/MY Country Leader, providing deep, data-driven insights into Malaysian market trends and financial performance.
  
  

Job Requirements

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6 - 8+ years of commercial leadership experience, with a strong track record of sales management in the Malaysian market.
• Proven track record of managing both B2B and trade/retail channels simultaneously.
• Experience working cross-functionally with finance, logistics, and operations to drive commercial outcomes.
• Background in FMCG or luxury goods strongly preferred; building materials or construction industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to build and structure commercial teams, establish KPIs, and drive performance in a growth or transformation environment.

• Malaysian Market Fluency: Strong existing network and deep understanding of the local construction, project, and trade landscapes across Malaysia.
• Pure Commercial Focus: A strong driver of revenue and margins, comfortable leading the front-end sales without needing to manage back-end administration or technical service operations.
• Matrix Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly within a structure where support functions (Admin/Aftersales) report into a regional counterpart.
