Role Purpose
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven
Business Development Manager
to identify and develop new business opportunities for our
interior design consultancy and office fit-out business
. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, developing our portfolio and market presence, and securing commercial and government projects.
You will manage business opportunities from initial client engagement through proposal, quotation and negotiation to project award, working closely with our Design, QS and Project teams to ensure a smooth handover and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify and develop new business opportunities across commercial and government sectors.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
Drive client engagement from initial contact through to project award.
Achieve business development targets and objectives set by the Company.
Manage sales enquiries and pursue potential project opportunities.
Client Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
Consult with clients to understand their requirements, objectives and needs.
Translate client requirements into clear project briefs for internal teams.
Manage client expectations throughout the business development and pre-award stages.
Proposals, Tenders & Quotations
Lead the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, pitches and tenders for own clients.
Coordinate with the Design, QS and Project teams to ensure proposals meet client requirements and align with the Company’s capabilities.
Work with the QS team on the preparation and review of quotations.
Submit tenders and quotations and support price and contract negotiations with clients.
Internal Coordination & Project Handover
Work closely with the Design, QS, Project and Purchasing teams to support smooth project execution.
Coordinate internal workflows and information to meet client and project deadlines.
Ensure information provided to internal stakeholders is complete and accurate.
Ensure awarded projects are properly handed over to the Project Team, with all relevant information and documentation.
Maintain a strong focus on quality, timely delivery and client satisfaction.
Requirements
Proven experience in
business development, sales, client management or account management
, preferably within the interior design, construction or a related industry.
Good understanding of the project lifecycle, from pitching and proposal development through to project award and delivery.
Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
Strong relationship-building and client management capabilities.
Commercially aware, organised and results-oriented.
Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
