Role Description The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Terengganu, Malaysia. The engineer will design, review, and implement electrical and instrumentation systems for upstream and downstream oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations. Daily responsibilities include preparing engineering drawings and documentation, supporting FEED and detailed design activities, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for fabrication, installation, and commissioning. The role involves performing site inspections, participating in testing and start-up, troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues, and optimizing process control and automation solutions. The engineer will also collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients to resolve technical queries, support procurement, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, with the ability to design and analyze industrial electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Instrumentation and Process Control for oil and gas applications, including sensors, control loops, and automation systems.
• Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems in operational environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related heavy industry projects, preferably in EPCC environments.
• Familiarity with relevant international and local standards, codes, and safety practices (e.g., IEC, IEEE, API, OSHA).
• Competence in using engineering design software and tools for electrical and instrumentation (e.g., AutoCAD, E&I design platforms).
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
