About the Job

The Data Analytics & AI Automation Specialist reports to the Section Head. He or she is responsible to support Internal Audit through the application of data analytics, AI and automation by delivering deeper risk insights, broader audit coverage and more efficient audit execution and continuous auditing.

• Participate in audit planning to understand audit objectives, identify data requirements and design meaningful data analytics for audit execution and continuous auditing.
• Develop and execute the Internal Audit data analytics roadmap to enhance audit coverage, risk insights and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal auditors and relevant stakeholders to obtain, understand and validate the data required for analytics assignments.
• Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify anomalies, control exceptions, trends and emerging risks relevant to audit objectives.
• Develop and maintain audit analytics scripts, automated tests, dashboards and continuous auditing solutions.
• Verify and interpret continuous auditing results to confirm the accuracy and relevance of exceptions before they are used for audit conclusions and reporting.
• Present analytics results and key risk insights clearly using appropriate data visualisation tools.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve audit planning, testing, documentation, reporting and continuous auditing.
• Evaluate suitable technologies and translate identified opportunities into practical Internal Audit use cases.
• Develop, test and implement AI-enabled audit tools and automated workflows based on defined audit requirements.
• Automate suitable audit activities, including data processing, exception identification, document analysis and preparation of audit outputs.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure appropriate human review before their use in audit work or reporting.
• Monitor the performance, effectiveness and continued relevance of implemented AI and automation solutions.
• Ensure analytics, AI and automation solutions comply with applicable data governance, privacy, information security and AI governance requirements.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging risks, regulatory developments and advancements in data analytics, AI and automation relevant to Internal Audit.
• Maintain the data analytics and AI procedures, methodologies, technical documentation and reusable analytics solutions to support consistent application.
• Support ad hoc analytics, management reporting and other data-driven initiatives within Internal Audit.

We are looking for people with

• Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, AI, automation, internal audit or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel or equivalent analytical and visualisation tools.
• Experience in analysing structured and unstructured data and developing dashboards, analytics scripts, automated workflows or AI-enabled solutions.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, machine learning and data governance would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in internal audit, insurance or financial services would be an advantage.
• Relevant professional or technical certifications would be an advantage.
