We are seeking experienced Marine Construction Supervisors to support the conversion of an existing Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) into a Geotechnical Survey Vessel (GSV) at a shipyard in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The project will involve significant marine modification and integration works, including the installation of a moonpool, derrick and other specialised offshore and survey equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day marine construction and conversion activities at the shipyard.
- Coordinate and monitor structural, mechanical, piping, outfitting and equipment installation works.
- Supervise moonpool fabrication and installation and associated structural modifications.
- Oversee derrick installation and integration of specialised offshore equipment.
- Coordinate the installation and integration of drilling, geotechnical and survey-related equipment.
- Review construction drawings, method statements and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with shipyard teams, subcontractors, engineers and project management.
- Monitor work progress, quality, safety and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify and resolve construction issues and provide technical support where required.
- Ensure construction activities are completed according to project schedule and specification
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in marine vessel construction, modification or conversion projects.
- Direct experience in one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- PSV / OSV conversion
- Geotechnical or survey vessel conversion
- Moonpool fabrication and installation
- Derrick installation
- Offshore drilling or survey equipment integration
- Specialised offshore vessel modifications
- Structural and mechanical marine outfitting
- Strong shipyard and marine construction supervision experience.
- Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and disciplines effectively.
- Good understanding of marine construction practices, drawings and technical specifications.
- Willingness to be based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia for the project duration.
