Our client, a leading international bank, is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee the development and delivery of equities trading platforms. This role requires strong hands‑on Java expertise, deep understanding of microservices and middleware, and proven leadership experience supporting front‑office trading teams.

You will lead a team of engineers, drive end‑to‑end SDLC, and ensure high‑performance, low‑latency systems that support global equities trading activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of developers supporting equities trading applications.

• Drive full SDLC including design, development, testing, deployment and production support.

• Architect and build Java‑based microservices for high‑performance trading systems.

• Work with middleware technologies, including MQ, FIX protocol, and market connectivity components.

• Partner closely with traders, quants, and global technology teams to deliver stable and scalable trading solutions.

• Ensure best practices in code quality, performance tuning, and system reliability.

• Manage technical roadmaps, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Oversee production stability, incident management, and root‑cause analysis for trading platforms.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of hands‑on Java development experience, with strong expertise in core Java, multithreading, performance tuning, and low‑latency systems.

• At least 5 years of team leadership experience within a banking or financial markets environment.

• Strong experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.

• Solid knowledge of middleware technologies (MQ, Kafka, FIX, messaging frameworks).

• Experience working with front‑office trading systems.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production support.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders and global teams.

• Proven ability to lead high‑performance engineering teams in fast‑paced trading environments.
