Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Personal Learning Assistant role based in Bangsar, Malaysia. We are looking for a committed Personal Learning Assistant (PLA) to provide individualised support to a student within a mainstream school environment. As a PLA, you will work closely with the student, teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals to support the student's learning, communication, social development, independence, and overall well-being.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child is given the opportunity to participate, learn, and develop their independence.

• Provide 1-to-1 support to the assigned student throughout the school day.
• Support the student to participate meaningfully in classroom activities, group activities, and school events.
• Assist the student with schoolwork, classroom tasks, organisation, and day-to-day activities.
• Help the student develop independence, confidence, communication, social interaction, and life skills.
• Facilitate positive interactions between the student and their peers and encourage inclusion within the classroom.
• Adapt and prepare learning materials where required, such as worksheets, visual prompts, games, and other resources.
• Support the student in accessing the full range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
• Follow and implement strategies and individual learning goals developed in collaboration with teachers and therapists.
• Observe and monitor the student's responses, progress, achievements, and areas requiring further support.
• Encourage and recognise the student's achievements and development towards greater independence.

• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals involved in the student's development.
• Support the implementation of individual learning programmes and agreed learning, behavioural, communication, and developmental goals.
• Participate in planning meetings, parent meetings, student reviews, and other relevant discussions when required.
• Provide regular feedback regarding the student's progress, strengths, challenges, and areas of concern.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to the student's development and learning progress.
• Contribute to student reviews and prepare reports or relevant updates when required.
• Communicate sensitively and professionally with parents and caregivers, under appropriate supervision.
• Seek guidance from teachers, therapists, and learning support professionals when additional support or strategies are required.

• Promote an inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to participate and interact positively.
• Support the student's integration and participation in activities alongside their peers.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, respectful, and stimulating environment for the student.
• Follow all relevant child safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and school policies and procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling information relating to students and their families.
• Report any safeguarding, welfare, behavioural, or safety concerns through the appropriate channels.

• Diploma or Degree in Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or a related field will be an advantage.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly children with special educational needs, is an advantage.
• Candidates with relevant experience in teaching, childcare, therapy, learning support, shadow teaching, or classroom assistance are encouraged to apply.
• Fresh graduates with the right attitude and genuine interest in supporting children may also be considered.
