Role Description
We are seeking a Production Manager to lead graphene production operations, oversee production machinery, and drive the scale-up and day-to-day manufacturing of our graphene and advanced materials products.
The Production Manager will be responsible for translating validated processes into consistent, reliable, full-scale production output, working closely with the technical/R&D, engineering, and management teams. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, suited to a production leader who is comfortable operating in a startup-to-growth environment and taking ownership of the factory floor. The role also sits on the Management Committee, contributing production and operational input to company-wide decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day graphene production operations, ensuring consistent output against throughput, quality, and yield targets
- Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment — including uptime, calibration, and preventive maintenance
- Own production process execution, ensuring processes remain repeatable, safe, and scalable as output volumes grow
- Work closely with the technical/R&D team to support technology transfer — translating lab-validated processes into stable, full-scale production
- Establish and maintain production SOPs, safety protocols, and quality documentation
- Support regulatory and compliance readiness related to materials production
- Review and endorse production reports and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Sit on the Management Committee, representing production in operational and strategic discussions
- Supervise, mentor, and develop production team members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
- Manage production-related petty cash and operational spend, reporting to management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's (Master's or PhD is preferred) in Chemical Engineering or any related field
- Strong background in graphene, advanced materials, or nanomaterials production/manufacturing
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in production or manufacturing operations, ideally with exposure to scale-up or pilot-to-production transitions
- Strong troubleshooting skills — comfortable diagnosing and resolving machinery and process issues on the floor
- Experience preparing production reports and technical documentation
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in materials manufacturing is an advantage
- Comfortable operating in a startup-to-growth environment with high ownership, adaptability, and accountability
- Resourceful and hands-on — willing to wear multiple hats, work with limited resources, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities as the company scales
- Open to Malaysian citizens only
This role suits candidates who are passionate about applied manufacturing and process excellence, thrive in a startup-to-growth environment, and can lead graphene production from validated process to reliable, scaled-up output.
