Job Summary
The Environmental Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities related to plant maintenance and environmental compliance in manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring proper operation of wastewater treatment systems, handling of scheduled waste, and maintaining equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth production processes. The role requires a proactive leader with strong technical knowledge in both environmental management and plant maintenance operations.
1. Industrial Effluent Management:
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of the Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS).
- Ensure effluent discharge complies with the limits set under the Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.
- Investigate and resolve non-compliance issues or system malfunctions in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all machinery, utilities, and critical systems.
- Prepare and submit relevant reports and monitoring data to the Department of Environment (DOE).
2. Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM):
- Ensure proper handling, storage, labelling, and disposal of scheduled wastes in compliance with the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.
- Maintain accurate waste inventories and records using platforms such as eSWIS.
- Coordinate with licensed waste contractors for the collection, transportation, and treatment/disposal of scheduled wastes.
- Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide training to staff on proper scheduled waste handling procedures and safety protocols.
4. CEPSO
- As competent person for Air Pollution Control System (APCS).
- Implement, monitoring and ensure environmental control systems in compliance with DOE, EQA 1974, related regulations, International Standards (ISO) and Customer Specific Request (CSR).
5. Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Management
- · Support and coordinate workplace safety and health activities in accordance with applicable OSH legislation, DOSH/JKKP requirements, company procedures, and customer requirements.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month ( HIGHER IF YOU HAVE A COMPETENT CERT)
