PID is responsible for PTP’s strategic and large capital investments. As part of the Project Support team, the Project Engineer will support project managers across project engineering, project management, site coordination, and QA/QC activities.

This opportunity is suitable for engineers who are keen to build hands-on experience in infrastructure and capital projects within the port and maritime environment. Fresh graduates and entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the execution and delivery of projects in accordance with PID’s Project Implementation Framework.
• Ensure project activities comply with contractual requirements, approved quality plans, and QA/QC standards.
• Coordinate site activities involving internal teams, consultants, and contractors across Civil, Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure works.
• Support pre- and post-project contractual matters, including technical reviews, tender preparation and evaluation.
• Liaise with relevant local authorities, where required, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support project management, site supervision and coordination activities throughout project implementation.
• Inspect and validate works carried out by consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with relevant project stakeholders.
• Monitor project issues and follow through on actions until resolution.
• Promote and ensure compliance with site safety requirements and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other related Engineering disciplines.
• Preferably 3 years of project management experience within civil, infrastructure, port, maritime, or related industries.
• Fresh graduates / entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to building services, marine projects and infrastructure projects such as land, road, water and sewerage works would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of contract management, local building codes and regulations would be an added advantage.
• PMP certification or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft Project.
• Well-organised with the ability to identify issues, coordinate actions and follow through until resolution.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
