About the role
Supervise daily food production to meet output targets while maintaining product quality, food safety, workplace safety and accurate production records. Lead the production team and work closely with Planning, QA, Maintenance and Warehouse to resolve issues and improve performance.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily production activities, including manpower deployment, shift arrangements and line allocation, in line with the approved production schedule.
- Monitor that the correct approved raw materials, packaging and labels are available and used. Oversee line clearance, start-up and product changeovers to prevent mix-ups.
- Monitor output, process parameters, yield, material usage, wastage and downtime. Investigate variances, report performance and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure production personnel follow approved SOPs, Work Instructions, GMP, HACCP controls, hygiene, cleaning and workplace safety requirements.
- Train and coach production personnel, assess their competency and address performance or compliance gaps.
- Review and verify batch and production records, process monitoring sheets, cleaning records and shift reports for completeness, accuracy and traceability.
- Identify and immediately escalate risks to food safety, product quality or employee safety. Stop the affected process and segregate potentially affected materials or products in accordance with company procedures, then coordinate with QA and management on the next steps.
- Work with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse and Planning to resolve production issues, reduce downtime and ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
- Investigate production non-conformities and complaints, implement assigned corrective and preventive actions, and follow through to closure.
- Support internal and external audits, new product trials, process validation and production start-up, including preparation, data collection and process improvement.
- Maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards in production areas and provide timely production and shift reports to management.
- · Set and monitor KPIs for production operators, review their performance regularly, and provide feedback and coaching to address any gaps.
- Carry out other production-related duties reasonably assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, with experience supervising production personnel.
- Practical knowledge of GMP, HACCP, hygiene, traceability and production documentation.
- Ability to plan manpower, solve production problems and use production data to improve output, yield and efficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills; able to work with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse and Planning teams.
- Organised and accountable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and respond to changing priorities.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
