About Us

At Bright Spots Energy, we believe that access to clean, reliable energy is not just a necessity—it’s the foundation for thriving communities and a just energy transition.

We build practical solutions that accelerate renewable energy adoption across Southeast Asia — combining technology, community trust, and market innovation to make clean energy more accessible.

What It Means to Work With Us

We don’t hire resumes. We hire problem-solvers. Builders. We know that constraints breed creativity. That’s why we look for talent that thrives in real-world conditions—not just on paper.

The people who join us have a drive to solve problems that matter with limited resources and a lot of ingenuity. If you’ve built systems from scratch, managed complex projects, or found ways to make things work without a clear playbook — you’ll thrive here.

About the Role

At Bright Spots Energy, our work in renewable energy has given us a front-row view of what it takes to accelerate solar adoption: many households are interested in clean energy but lack the trusted guidance, information, and support needed to make the right decision.

We are building new solar services that address these gaps, by helping households better understand their energy needs, evaluate solutions, and participate more confidently in the transition towards cleaner, more efficient homes. At the other side of the equation, we connect quality solar providers with better-qualified customers.

To support this growth, we are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager, Urban Energy to lead the development and execution of these new services.

You’ll work across operations, partnerships, technology, and customer experience to turn ideas into scalable programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work with a small, agile team and external partners to build systems, test new models, and create solutions that can shape the future of urban energy adoption in Malaysia.

This role requires someone who enjoys ownership, experimentation, and building from the ground up. You will play a hands-on role in launching and scaling new energy services — starting with our home energy assessment initiative in the Klang Valley, while contributing to the broader Urban Energy strategy.

What You’ll Do
  • Program Development: Lead the design, launch, and execution of Urban Energy programs and services — translating ideas into practical services, building operating models, and ensuring smooth delivery from pilot stage to delivery.
  • Partner & Ecosystem Management: Build strong relationships with industry partners, service providers, technology partners, and other stakeholders to create effective delivery models and long-term collaborations.
  • Customer Experience Design: Design trusted and seamless customer journeys — from awareness and qualification to service delivery, follow-up, and feedback collection.
  • Process Building: Create operational workflows, SOPs, tracking systems, and playbooks that enable new energy services to operate efficiently and scale.
  • Performance Tracking & Improvement: Define key metrics, monitor program performance, analyse results, and continuously improve systems based on data and customer feedback.
  • Technology Coordination: Work with internal and external teams to implement tools, automation, and digital workflows that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain clear project documentation, progress updates, and insights to support decision-making, fundraising, and future expansion.

  • What We’re Looking For
    • 3–5 years of experience in program management, operations, project management, or startup environments
    • Experience building and managing operational processes from the ground up
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across partners, vendors, customers, and internal teams
    • Comfortable managing ambiguity and creating structure in fast-changing environments
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset — able to identify challenges, test solutions, and improve systems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-starter who enjoys taking ownership and driving outcomes
    • Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and the energy transition
    • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English
    • Based in Klang Valley, with occasional travel if needed
    • Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Notion, WhatsApp Business tools, or similar project management platforms

    Bonus points if you have:

    • Experience in renewable energy, solar, sustainability, or energy-related projects
    • Experience productisation of a new product/service
    • Experience working with communities, homeowners, or ecosystem partners
    • Startup or entrepreneurial experience where you built systems from scratch
