SENIOR SEISMOLOGICAL EXPERT

Pegasus International (UK) Ltd is inviting applications from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Seismological Expert for an upcoming international consultancy assignment.

Required Experience

Candidates should have:

• Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience in Seismology, Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, Earthquake Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of consultancy experience in planning, design, seismic monitoring and analysis, and supervision of seismic activity-related services.
• Demonstrated experience in seismic observation, seismic monitoring networks, seismic data analysis, and interpretation.
• Experience in the planning, implementation, operation, or improvement of comprehensive seismic observation systems.
• Experience in earthquake monitoring, seismic hazard assessment, seismic instrumentation, data acquisition, processing, and technical reporting.
• Experience with Earthquake Early Warning Systems (EEWS) and disaster-risk-reduction initiatives will be considered an advantage.
• Previous experience working with government agencies, universities, research institutions, disaster-management authorities, or international development projects is highly desirable.
  

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Seismology, Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, Earthquake Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A Ph.D. in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

Relevant professional certification, training, institutional affiliation, or membership with a disaster prevention association, seismological association, seismic observation institution, geological/geophysical institution, or earthquake research organization will be an advantage.

The successful candidate should possess:

• Strong analytical and technical-reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-coordination abilities
• Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills
• Multilingual proficiency will be an advantage
• Ability to work effectively with international consultants, government authorities, research institutions, and technical stakeholders
