Responsible for conducting production testing of rectifiers, battery chargers, power supplies, and related products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The role performs product testing, carries out routine troubleshooting, maintains test equipment, records test results, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production and quality objectives.
1) Key Responsibilities:
Production Testing
- Perform functional and production testing of products in accordance with approved work instructions and test procedures.
- Verify product performance against engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure products successfully complete all required testing before release to the next process or shipment.
- Accurately record test results and report any non-conformities.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Perform routine troubleshooting on products that fail functional testing.
- Identify basic electrical or assembly-related issues and carry out re-testing after corrective actions.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the Senior Technician or Assistant Engineer when necessary.
- Support engineering investigations by providing accurate test data and observations.
Test Equipment Management
- Set up and operate production test equipment, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
- Perform routine equipment checks before testing activities.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
- Report equipment faults or abnormalities to the Senior Technician.
Documentation
- Complete production test records, inspection checklists, and related documentation accurately.
- Ensure all test records are properly maintained and traceable.
- Assist in updating work instructions and test documentation as directed.
Production Support
- Support daily production activities to achieve production schedules and delivery targets.
- Assist with engineering trials, pilot runs, and new product testing.
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to resolve testing-related issues.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reduce test cycle time, and minimise production defects.
- Contribute ideas to improve workplace organisation, safety, and productivity.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, electrical safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing testing activities.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and company work instructions.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Technician (Production – Test), Assistant Engineer (Test), or Engineer (Production – Test).
2) Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with production testing equipment, including Digital Multimeter (DMM), Oscilloscope (basic operation), Electronic Load, Power Supply and Hi-Pot Tester
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to follow work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
3) Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, production testing, or electrical assembly
- Fresh diploma graduates with relevant internship or industrial training experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
