ABOUT THE ROLE

At PUNB, we believe that strong institutions are built by inspired leaders. As a leader of Strategic Finance Department, you will play a critical role in strengthening PUNB’s financial sustainability while advancing our mission to empower Bumiputera entrepreneurs through responsible growth.

You will be entrusted with shaping and guiding the organisation’s financial direction with integrity and accountability. Working collaboratively with Management, you will ensure sound judgement, strong governance and disciplined use of resources, while supporting teams through change with respect and clarity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and drive financial sustainability and income‑optimisation strategies, supporting the organisation’s transition towards long‑term financial independence.

• Lead treasury, liquidity and asset‑liability management, ensuring prudent risk management and responsible stewardship of funds.

• Provide enterprise‑level financial, performance and governance oversight, ensuring alignment between corporate strategy, budgets and execution.

• Advise Management and Board Members on financial strategy

• Strengthen institutional governance, internal controls and credit risk management, upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

• Lead organisation‑wide budgeting, scenario planning and financial stress testing, enabling agile and informed decision‑making.

• Ensure full statutory, tax and zakat compliance, reinforcing PUNB’s commitment to ethical and Shariah‑compliant practices.

• Champion digital finance transformation, improving efficiency, data integrity and transparency across financial processes.

• Build and develop a high‑performing, values‑driven finance team, fostering a culture of mutual respect, capability growth and accountability.

• Conduct continuous market, economic and regulatory intelligence scanning to support proactive and forward‑looking strategic decisions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including 8–10 years in senior leadership positions within finance, treasury or related areas.

• Strong expertise in financial strategy, treasury management, governance, budgeting and performance management.

• Proven ability to operate effectively at Senior Management and Board level.

• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to develop talent, lead change and build trust.

• Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) under the Accountants Act 1967.

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, MICPA, CPA Australia or ICAEW.

• Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate (PKMC) is an added advantage.
