Role Description The Pharmacy Technician role at DSH2 is a full-time, on-site position based in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, the Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications according to prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing medication inventory, labeling and packaging drugs, organizing stock, and maintaining proper storage conditions. The Pharmacy Technician also assists with patient and caregiver inquiries, provides courteous customer service, and helps coordinate with medical and nursing teams to ensure timely delivery of medications. The role involves accurate documentation, adherence to hospital policies, and active participation in quality and safety initiatives within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Strong prescription handling skills, including interpreting and processing prescriptions accurately and safely.
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures, with experience working in a pharmacy setting or similar healthcare environment.
• Competence in core Pharmacy Technician functions, such as medication preparation, labeling, and basic dosage calculations.
• Inventory control skills, including stock monitoring, rotation, ordering, and maintaining proper storage and documentation.
• Customer service abilities, with a focus on clear communication, empathy, and professional interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
• Relevant certification or diploma in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Technology; registration with appropriate local regulatory bodies is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Willingness to work in shifts as required by hospital operations and to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
