Depending on the intern's interests, programme schedule and availability of suitable opportunities, interns may be exposed to the following areas:

1. Estate Planning & Wills Education

Interns may learn about the fundamental concepts and processes surrounding:

• Wills and succession planning
• Common estate planning considerations
• Family and beneficiary considerations
• Probate and estate administration
• The practical role of different professionals involved in the estate planning ecosystem
• Common issues that may arise when succession planning is delayed or incomplete

The focus of these sessions is on education, research and professional exposure.

2. Professional Shadowing Opportunities

Selected interns may have opportunities to observe:

• How estate planning information and circumstances are discussed and documented
• How relevant client information is gathered and organised
• The practical workflow involved in the preparation and coordination of estate planning documentation
• How professionals from different disciplines may work within the broader estate planning ecosystem

All shadowing opportunities involving sensitive or confidential information will be subject to appropriate confidentiality requirements, supervision and client consent where applicable.

3. Business Succession Planning Exposure

Interns may also be introduced to concepts surrounding business succession and continuity, including:

• Succession challenges faced by privately held businesses
• Ownership and shareholding considerations
• Business continuity and succession planning
• Family business considerations
• The relationship between personal succession planning and business ownership
• Corporate structures and ownership transition concepts

This component is particularly relevant to students who are interested in corporate advisory, private wealth, family businesses and long-term business planning.

4. Learning Sessions With Industry Professionals

Where suitable opportunities are available, interns may participate in curated learning sessions involving professionals such as:

• Corporate lawyers
• Estate and succession professionals
• Private wealth practitioners
• Corporate and commercial professionals
• Other relevant industry specialists

Topics may include business succession, corporate structures, ownership transitions and other areas relevant to estate planning and succession.

5. Attachment & External Learning Opportunities

Depending on availability and suitability, selected interns may have opportunities for external professional exposure or attachments with selected affiliate or partner organisations, which may include:

• Law firms
• Corporate and commercial practices
• Private wealth-related businesses
• Other professional firms relevant to estate planning and business succession

These opportunities are intended to help interns develop a broader understanding of the professional ecosystem and how different disciplines may interact when dealing with estate, succession and business continuity matters.

Internship Responsibilities

Interns may be involved in:

• Researching estate planning, succession and related legal and business topics for educational and internal knowledge purposes
• Assisting with the preparation of educational, research and internal knowledge materials
• Supporting the development of learning programmes and knowledge resources
• Conducting research on business succession and ownership-related topics
• Attending selected learning sessions, briefings and professional discussions
• Assisting with administrative and operational processes relating to the preparation and coordination of documentation
• Supporting internal projects relevant to the company's work and the intern's professional development
• Maintaining strict confidentiality when handling or being exposed to sensitive information
• Undertaking other responsibilities and projects relevant to the internship programme

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

• Are currently pursuing, or have recently completed, studies in Business, Law or a related discipline
• Have a strong interest in estate planning, succession, business, private wealth or corporate matters
• Are curious about the intersection between law and real-world business and personal circumstances
• Possess good research, communication and organisational skills
• Are proactive, responsible and willing to learn
• Can maintain professionalism and confidentiality
• Are able to commit for a minimum period of 6 months

No prior experience in estate planning is required. A genuine interest in learning, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to explore unfamiliar areas are highly valued.

Pay: $500.00 - $1,000.00 per month
