We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Software Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced software and firmware solutions for intelligent automotive systems.
The role focuses on low-level embedded development, firmware engineering, system integration, testing, and optimisation. You will work with embedded platforms and automotive technologies while supporting the development lifecycle from initial implementation through verification, validation, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware and low-level software drivers for MCU and SoC platforms.
- Support board bring-up, peripheral configuration, and hardware interface development.
- Work with communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
- Assist with embedded Linux and Android porting activities.
- Configure and maintain kernel and device-tree components where required.
- Conduct software unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- Perform software verification and validation against customer and automotive requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including software requirements, design specifications, test reports, and release documentation.
- Support product development activities such as APQP, DFMEA, and risk assessments.
- Work with production and test engineering teams to resolve firmware-related issues during manufacturing.
- Ensure software development activities follow applicable quality and automotive standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development or embedded systems development.
- Strong programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience using software debugging and testing tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Understanding of software verification and validation methodologies.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and low-level software development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 is an advantage.
