The Facilities Technician is responsible for carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance, ad-hoc maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and general facilities support to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the premises. The role involves attending to user requests, coordinating with subcontractors, performing basic handyman works, updating maintenance records, and supporting defect rectification activities. The Technician will work closely with the Facilities and M&E team to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and within the required timeframe.
Key responsibilities
Attend to scheduled preventive maintenance and ad-hoc maintenance works for building facilities and equipment.
Respond promptly to user requests and maintenance calls, including lighting faults, air-conditioning issues, pedestal lock/unlock requests, and other general facilities-related matters.
Carry out basic troubleshooting and minor repair works for facilities and building services.
Perform simple handyman and general maintenance works, including minor repairs, adjustments, replacement of basic components, and other facilities-related tasks.
Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors and service providers for maintenance and repair works.
Monitor subcontractor activities on site and ensure completed works meet the required standards.
Conduct routine facility inspections and defect checks and report any issues identified.
Update and maintain daily maintenance reports, service records, work orders, and defect records.
Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), where applicable, to receive, update, and close maintenance work orders.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety procedures, work instructions, and site requirements.
About you
NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, M&E maintenance, or a similar technical role.
Experience in ACMV, electrical, plumbing, lighting, building services, or general facilities maintenance will be an advantage.
