Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and consistency, maintaining hygiene standards, and leading the kitchen team effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate kitchen staff during daily operations.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant’s recipes, standards, and presentation requirements.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, freshness, and consistency.
- Assist with menu preparation, recipe development, and new dish trials when required.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices are followed at all times.
- Monitor kitchen inventory, stock levels, and ingredient usage.
- Assist with ordering and receiving food supplies.
- Minimize food wastage and maintain effective food cost control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
- Train, guide, and motivate junior kitchen staff to improve their skills and performance.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements :
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Senior Chef will be an advantage.
- Experience in the hotel or hospitality industry is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and shifts when required.
- Culinary qualifications or relevant professional training will be an advantage.
