PTS Asia is Hiring – Contract Drilling Well Control Instructor

PTS Asia is looking for a highly experienced Drilling Well Control Instructor to join our Malaysia training team on a contract basis.

This position would ideally suit an experienced drilling professional or instructor who is interested in delivering approximately one to two training courses per month in Kuala Lumpur.

Our instructors are central to the quality and reputation of PTS Asia. We are therefore looking for someone with substantial operational experience, strong technical credibility, and the ability to transfer that experience effectively to experienced Oil & Gas professionals.

Key Requirements

• Malaysian citizens only. Applications from non-Malaysian candidates will not be considered.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Extensive practical experience in drilling and well control operations.
• Strong working knowledge of IWCF and/or IADC Well Control standards.
• Previous experience delivering technical or well control training is strongly preferred.
• Current or previous IWCF/IADC instructor or assessor experience would be highly advantageous.
• Confident delivering classroom-based theory and practical simulator training.
• Able to explain complex well control principles clearly and practically.
• Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Professional, dependable, and committed to maintaining high training and competency standards.

The Role

The successful instructor will deliver primarily IWCF Drilling Well Control training, including classroom instruction, simulator exercises, candidate coaching, exam preparation, and competency assessment.

The instructor may also contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of training materials, simulator exercises, and course delivery standards.

This is not a full-time permanent position. It is a flexible contract opportunity, generally involving around one or two courses per month, depending on training demand and instructor availability.

PTS Asia has delivered competency-based well control training throughout Southeast Asia for more than 20 years, with operations and partnerships across Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
