Job Description (QA Engineer)

Responsibilities
- Review requirements specifications, user stories, and technical design documents to identify potential issues, ambiguities, and test scenarios.
- Create clear, detailed, and well-structured test cases based on product requirements.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute manual testing activities for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Perform functional, integration, system, usability, and regression testing.
- Identify, document, and track bugs throughout the defect life cycle using appropriate bug tracking tools.
- Re-test resolved bugs and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not affected by changes.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to investigate and resolve issues.
- Verify that software releases meet the defined quality requirements before deployment.
- Perform testing across different environments such as Development, Staging, UAT, and Production-like environments.
- Maintain and update test cases and testing documentation as product features evolve.
- Assist in improving QA processes, testing methodologies, and overall product quality.
- Perform exploratory and ad-hoc testing when required.
- Perform other QA-related duties as needed.
Technical Skills / Must Have
- CTFL certification or equivalent QA knowledge is an advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in manual software testing, preferably for web-based applications.
- Hands-on experience in writing and executing manual test cases.
- Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using bug tracking tools.
- Basic experience with Test Management tools.
- Good understanding of software QA methodologies, testing processes, SDLC, and STLC.
- Understanding of functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Experience testing web-based applications across multiple environments.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL is an advantage.
- Experience working with Linux environments is an advantage.
- Experience in the web hosting or SaaS industry is an advantage.
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant QA/testing experience. Fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may also be considered.
- Good understanding of manual testing principles and software quality assurance processes.
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Git and basic development workflows is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of API testing is an advantage.
- Exposure to automation testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience testing SaaS products or cloud-based applications is a big plus.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Engineering and Product teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
