Company Description Horng Chen Decoration & Construction Sdn Bhd (HCDC) was founded in 1996 by Director Mr. Lee Hock Leong and has grown into a specialist construction and landscaping company. The team initially focused on large-scale landscaping projects, including fish ponds, man-made ponds, and themed gardens ranging from Mediterranean to tropical designs. In 1999, HCDC took over the majority of Nirvana Asia Ltd.’s construction projects and became its main contractor. Role Description The Quantity Surveyor will work on-site in Kajang in a full-time capacity, supporting construction and decoration projects from pre-contract to post-contract stages. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), assisting in tender preparation and evaluation, and monitoring project costs to ensure budgets and timelines are met. The role involves cost planning, tracking variations, preparing interim and final payment claims, and producing accurate cost reports for management. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to maintain cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong cost control and cost management skills to manage project budgets and financial performance.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing BOQ and cost planning for construction and decoration projects.
• Experience in cost reporting, including preparation of progress, variance, and final account reports.
• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, tendering processes, and valuation methods.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with site and office teams.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, cost management tools); experience in Malaysian construction industry standards is an advantage.
