Job Description

We are looking for a creative and motivated Junior Interior Designer to join our Design & Build team.

This position is suitable for fresh graduates or junior designers who are interested in gaining practical experience in commercial interior design, renovation and fit-out projects.

You will be involved from design concept and space planning to technical drawings, material selection and site implementation, working closely with our Project, QS and Site teams.

Job Scope / Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts, space planning and layout proposals.
• Prepare 2D drawings, detailed drawings and 3D visualisations.
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards and material boards.
• Propose suitable materials, finishes, colours, furniture and lighting.
• Carry out site measurements and site surveys.
• Prepare and update drawings based on site conditions and client requirements.
• Assist in preparing construction and detail drawings for site implementation.
• Coordinate design details with the Project, QS and Site teams.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors on materials and design requirements.
• Attend client discussions, site meetings and site inspections when required.
• Review site works to ensure they are in accordance with approved designs and drawings.
• Resolve basic design and detailing issues during construction with guidance from senior team members.
• Maintain proper organisation and revision control of drawings and design documentation.
• Research new materials, products and design solutions.
• Handle multiple design tasks and meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience will be an advantage but is not compulsory.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Knowledge of 3ds Max, Enscape, Lumion or other rendering software will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar presentation software.
• Able to understand and prepare technical and construction drawings.
• Creative with a good sense of space, materials and detailing.
• Detail-oriented with good time management.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to learn and take ownership of assigned work.
• Interest in commercial interior design, renovation and fit-out projects.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
