About the role

As a Senior Technician – Fire & Life Safety at Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu, you will help maintain the hotel’s building systems and fire safety equipment. This full-time position is based in Kota Kinabalu and involves carrying out maintenance, supervising technicians and contractors, and responding to technical and safety emergencies.

What you’ll be doing

• Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot building systems and fire protection equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Check that fire and life safety systems are in working condition and report any defects promptly.
• Supervise technicians and contractors, and follow up on maintenance and repair work.
• Work with other departments to resolve technical issues and maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and provide technical support when required.

What we’re looking for

• Diploma, certificate or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Safety, Facilities Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities management, fire protection, or fire and life safety systems.
• Experience managing or maintaining fire protection systems is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and supervise technicians and contractors.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and work outside normal hours when required.
