Job Summary

The Manager, Corporate Communications is responsible for planning, developing and executing strategic communications initiatives that strengthen Citaglobal Berhad’s corporate reputation and support the Group’s business priorities.


The role manages corporate content, media relations, financial and corporate communications, annual reporting, digital and internal communications, brand governance, stakeholder engagement and corporate events. The position works closely with senior management, business divisions, subsidiaries, external agencies and other key stakeholders to ensure that the Group’s communications are timely, accurate and consistent.


Key Responsibilities


1. Corporate and Strategic Communications

  • Develop and execute corporate communication plans aligned with the Group’s strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Draft, review and edit corporate announcements, press releases, speeches, talking points, presentations, management messages and other communication materials.
  • Ensure that corporate messaging is clear, consistent and aligned across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide communications counsel and support to senior management and relevant business units.


2. Media Relations and Reputation Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media representatives, PR agencies and other external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate media interviews, briefings, enquiries, press events and media-monitoring activities.
  • Identify appropriate media opportunities to strengthen the Group’s visibility and reputation.
  • Support issues management and crisis communications when required.


3. Financial and Corporate Communications

  • Work closely with Finance, Company Secretarial, Management and relevant advisers on financial results announcements and supporting communication materials.
  • Develop clear and consistent corporate messaging for material developments, business milestones, contract awards and other significant announcements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of communications relating to the Group’s financial and business performance.


4. Annual Report and Corporate Publications

  • Lead the development and coordination of corporate content for the Group’s annual report and other corporate publications.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, external writers, designers and appointed vendors throughout the development and production process.
  • Ensure the consistency, accuracy and timely submission of all relevant content and materials.


5. Digital and Social Media Communications

  • Manage and coordinate content for the Group’s corporate website and social media platforms.
  • Develop content that strengthens the visibility of the Group, its businesses, projects, achievements and corporate milestones.
  • Monitor digital platforms and identify opportunities to improve content quality, relevance and audience engagement.


6. Internal Communications

  • Plan and develop internal communication materials, including leadership messages, employee newsletters, announcements and intranet content.
  • Support employee engagement programs, town halls and other Group-wide communication initiatives.
  • Facilitate the effective communication of the Group’s priorities, achievements and developments to employees.


7. Brand Management

  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s Branding and Communications Policy and relevant brand guidelines.
  • Review communication and marketing materials produced by subsidiaries, business units and external vendors to ensure brand consistency.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on the appropriate use of the Group’s brand identity and corporate messaging.


8. Corporate Events and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide communications and event-management support for corporate events, project launches, stakeholder program, CSR initiatives and sponsorship activations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, event agencies, vendors and other external parties to ensure the effective delivery of assigned program.
  • Support guest management, media engagement, event content, branding and related communication requirements.


9. Team, Agency and Vendor Management

  • Manage and coordinate team deliverables, PR agencies, creative agencies, production partners and other appointed vendors.
  • Establish clear deliverables and monitor project timelines, budgets and quality of work.
  • Guide and support team members in delivering their responsibilities and professional development.
  • Ensure that external partners deliver work in accordance with agreed expectations and the Group’s standards.


Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related discipline.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification would be an advantage.


Experience

  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations or stakeholder communications.
  • At least two years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in a public-listed company, diversified group, infrastructure, energy, property or construction-related organization would be an advantage.
  • Experience working directly with senior management and managing external agencies or vendors is preferred.

  • Resourceful, adaptable and able to exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive or confidential information.
