We are looking for a motivated and experienced
Assistant Restaurant Manager
to support the Restaurant Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, excellent guest experience, strong team performance, and consistent operating standards.
This is a hands-on role suited to a hospitality professional who enjoys working with people, takes ownership of operations, and is passionate about delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Supervise and support the front-of-house team during daily operations and service periods.
Ensure that all staff follow company SOPs, service standards, hygiene requirements, and operational procedures.
Maintain high standards of guest service, hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation.
Welcome and attend to guests professionally and ensure a positive dining experience throughout their visit.
Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Restaurant Manager where appropriate.
Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient communication and smooth food and beverage service.
Monitor table service, order accuracy, food presentation, service timing, and overall guest satisfaction.
Assist with staff scheduling, deployment, attendance, and daily manpower planning according to business requirements.
Train, coach, and motivate team members to maintain consistent service standards and improve performance.
Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
Monitor restaurant sales, daily operational performance, and key service indicators.
Support the Restaurant Manager in achieving sales targets, controlling operating costs, and minimising wastage.
Work closely with the kitchen and marketing teams to support promotions, new menu launches, and initiatives to improve sales.
Assist with inventory management, stock control, ordering, and proper handling of restaurant supplies.
Ensure proper cash handling, POS procedures, opening and closing procedures, and daily reporting.
Conduct regular checks of the dining area, service stations, equipment, and facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for service.
Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Assist the Restaurant Manager with administrative and operational tasks as required.
Take charge of restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager when required.
Requirements
Minimum
3–5 years of relevant experience
in restaurant, hospitality, or F&B operations.
Previous experience as an
Assistant Restaurant Manager, Supervisor, Senior Captain, or similar leadership position
.
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and front-of-house service.
Good understanding of customer service, service standards, manpower planning, and outlet operations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-focused with a positive and professional attitude.
Able to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good understanding of POS, cash handling, inventory control, and basic outlet administration.
Commercially aware with an understanding of sales, food costs, labour costs, and operational performance.
Able to work independently and take ownership of daily operations.
Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by restaurant operations.
