Construction Site Supervisor / Manager
Job Summary
The Construction Site Supervisor / Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating workers and subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out according to drawings and specifications, and maintaining safety, quality, and project schedules.
The role requires good site coordination, manpower management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily construction and installation activities on site.
Plan and arrange manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work sequences.
Allocate work to workers and subcontractors and monitor their productivity.
Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, and inspections when required.
Monitor site progress and ensure works are completed according to the project schedule.
Identify delays, site constraints, clashes, and technical issues and report them to the Project Manager.
Check drawings and site conditions before commencement of work.
Coordinate installation works and ensure proper interfacing between different trades.
Arrange and monitor material deliveries and ensure sufficient materials are available for site works.
Check workmanship and ensure completed works meet required quality standards.
Arrange inspections, testing, rectification works, and handover activities.
Maintain proper site records, including manpower attendance, daily progress reports, inspection records, material records, and site instructions.
Ensure workers comply with site safety rules, risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and company safety requirements.
Conduct or participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
Ensure workers use the required PPE and proper tools and equipment.
Maintain good housekeeping and proper storage of materials and company assets.
Ensure tools, equipment, materials, keys, and other company property issued to the site are properly safeguarded.
Report accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, defective works, damage, or loss of company property immediately.
Coordinate rectification works for defects and outstanding items.
Assist with Testing & Commissioning and project handover where required.
Ensure instructions from the Project Manager and management are properly implemented on site.
Perform any other site-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Relevant experience in construction, electrical, M&E, ELV, or related site works.
Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Site Coordinator, Foreman, or Site Manager is preferred.
Able to read and understand construction, electrical, M&E, and coordination drawings.
Good knowledge of site installation practices and construction procedures.
Able to supervise workers and subcontractors effectively.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and take responsibility for assigned projects.
Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Basic knowledge of workplace safety requirements in Singapore.
Relevant safety certifications such as BCSS / SSS or other applicable certifications will be an advantage.
Possession of a valid Singapore driving licence will be an advantage.
