Job Purpose
To ensure a safe and compliant working environment by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing all workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies. The Safety Supervisor plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and preventing workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Compliance & Monitoring
- Enforce compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Project, Construction, Engineering, and Machinery Act, and relevant statutory regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Verify that all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work procedures.
- Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports with corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain and update all safety documentation, incident logs, and reports.
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Organize and lead safety toolbox meetings, drills, and refresher training sessions.
- Promote continuous safety awareness and culture throughout the workforce.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure emergency response plans are up-to-date and effectively implemented.
- Conduct periodic drills and ensure all staff are familiar with emergency procedures.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with clients, authorities, and management regarding safety compliance and inspections.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly safety performance reports.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) / Safety Supervisor with DOSH is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of local safety regulations, risk management, and HSE best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and enforce discipline firmly yet fairly.
- Must possess a valid Yellow Book registered with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH Malaysia)
Work Conditions
- Based at the project site (depending on assignment).
- Required to conduct regular site inspections and attend safety meetings.
Pay: RM3,200.00 - RM4,200.00 per month
