to join our team, primarily supporting our

Smart O&M services

as we onboard more systems. This role also offers exposure to our other key services with a focus on

system monitoring,

data analytics and performance optimization

What You’ll Do

As a Scientific Excellence Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing the operational and performance data of PV systems and translating this information into actionable engineering insights.

PV Performance & Analytics

• Monitor and analyse the performance of PV systems across an international portfolio of operating assets.
• Conduct daily and periodic performance assessments to identify anomalies, underperformance, degradation, and potential operational issues.
• Analyse energy yield, availability, performanceratios, losses, and other relevant performance indicators.
• Investigate deviations from expected performance and identify potential technical and operational root causes.
• Analyse equipment- and component-level data, including inverter, string, sensor, weather, and other plant operational parameters.
• Compare actual system performance against expected or benchmark performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve system performance, energy yield, reliability, and availability.

Technical Investigation & Problem Solving

• Lead or participate in technical investigations of PV system performance issues.
• Work with operational data to distinguish between equipment faults, environmental factors, system configuration issues,data-quality issues, and other causes of underperformance.
• Support the verification of corrective actions and assess whether implemented solutions have achieved the intended performance improvements.
• Support technical audits, performance assessments,repowering studies, rectification activities, and other engineering investigations.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders.

Smart O&M & Product Development

• Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of PV performance monitoring methodologies.
• Help enhance automated monitoring, anomaly detection, diagnostic and predictive analytics capabilities.
• Work with the engineering and technology teams to translate practical PV performance challenges into improved analytical toolsand workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive analysis and improve the efficiency and scalability of Smart O&M processes.
• Contribute to the development of engineering standards, analytical methodologies, technical documentation, and best practices.

Customer & Project Support

• Prepare technical performance reports and communicate key findings and recommendations to customers.
• Translate complex technical and data-driven findings into clear, commercially relevant insights.
• Support customer discussions relating to system performance, operational issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, management, commercial, and other teams on customer and internal projects.
• Take ownership of assigned technical projects and deliverables from analysis through to completion.

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related technical discipline. Master’s degree in related fields will be an addedadvantage.
• At least 4 years relevant experience in engineering,renewable energy, solar PV, energy systems, or data analytics. Experience in Battery Storage will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
• Understanding of solar PV systems, electrical systems,energy generation, or renewable energy technologies.
• Ability to investigate technical performance issues and identify potential root causes using operational data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis; experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, or other data analytics tools is anadvantage.
• Experience with data visualisation, statistical analysis, or performance modelling is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies and trends in operational data.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written reports and presentations.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Passion for renewable energy, solar PV technology, and improving the performance and reliability of clean-energy assets.
