Job Purpose :

Ø To manage and maintain the overall operation of steam boiler, turbine and related pressure vessels in compliance with statutory requirements and company safety standards in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of steam boiler, turbine and related pressure vessels.

Ø To manage overall P&L for HKPW inclusive of operational cost and revenue, budgets, CAPEX, etc.

Ø To ensure legal compliance with statutory body such as DOSH, DOE and ST.

Ø To lead and manage a team.

Ø To lead, manage and plan for Annual Inspection with DOSH involving steam boiler, turbine and related unfired pressure vessels in obtaining the required Certificate of Fitness (CF).

Key Responsibilities :

Boiler Operation & Maintenance

Ø Ensuring the operation of steam boiler, turbine, pressure vessels and associated systems according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Ø Conduct regular inspections, testing and preventive maintenance on all machineries including the critical ones to ensure safe and efficient operation with minimal downtime.

Ø Monitor boiler performance parameters such as steam pressure, temperature, drum water level cross check with gauge glass and feasible fuel consumption.

Ø Ensure boiler fuel management is properly maintained with incoming and outgoing recorded in the inventory as per SOP.

Ø Monitor turbine performance parameters such as turbine rpm, inlet temperature, governor control, turbine overall temperature, mechanical pump, auxiliary pump, lube oil pressure, vibration, etc in case of any abnormality found.

Ø On-site verification during troubleshooting of both boiler and turbine issues or abnormalities to ensure minimal downtime and properly handled.

Ø Ensure adequate supply of fuel, water, and other resources required for continuous operation without fail.

Ø Ensure housekeeping is well maintained at boiler station at all times.

Ø Steam Engineer to report daily on the boiler and turbine operation to ensure no pending issues potentially affecting the operation.

Ø Ensure critical spare parts and consumables are properly managed and made available upon request without fail.

Safety & Compliance

Ø Ensure all operations comply with Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022.

Ø Ensure all operations carried out as per DOE compliance i.e smoke opacity and dust concentration within limits, no oil spillage into the monsoon drain, etc.

Ø Conduct safety audits and follow all lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.

Ø Liaise with DOSH officers and external inspectors for boiler Certificate of Fitness (CF), inspection, and renewal.

Ø Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation of safety logs, inspection reports, and operation data.

Documentation & Reporting

Ø Review daily boiler operation logs, boiler water testing, maintenance records, and safety inspection reports.

Ø Review daily trend of boiler operation inclusive of SDM and CEMS are within limits as per DOE compliance.

Ø Investigate any reports on unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or near-miss incidents.

Ø Preparing reports for management and relevant authorities when required.

Teamwork & Coordination

Ø Coordinate with maintenance, production, and safety teams to ensure uninterrupted steam supply and turbine generation.

Ø Manage, supervise and guide boiler personnel and helpers in performing daily operational tasks as per SOP.

Ø Coordinate with boiler personnel to ensure smooth transition during change of working shift.

Ø Support other engineering functions as assigned by the management.

Continuous Improvement

Ø Recommend improvements to enhance boiler efficiency, energy conservation, and operational reliability.

Ø Participate in training and competency programs to keep up with the latest safety and engineering standards.

Ø To execute and adhere to any additional responsibilities assigned by the Management.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

1. B0 Chargeman cert.

SPECIAL SKILL

1. Capable of managing new expansion projects.

2. Capable of handling turnkey projects.

JOB SPECIFICATION

1. Knowledge in managing overall Plant Maintenance and improvements projects.

2. Able to cooperate efficiently and effectively with all departments in achieving company budgeted targets.

3. Able to motivate and lead the maintenance team in achieving targeted KPIs.

4. Some experience in handling boiler operation & annual inspection.

5. Manage the maintenance team.

6. Handle health and safety issues at the plant.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
