Furniture Product Designer

Job Description:

Create functional, aesthetically pleasing and marketable furniture products. Work on design concepts, materials selection, prototyping, and collaborating with production team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research market trends, customer preferences, and materials.

2. Develop sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings and assembly instructions for furniture.

3. Select appropriate materials (wood, metal, upholstery, etc.) and finishes.

4. Collaborate with production team to ensure feasibility.

5. Test prototypes for functionality, durability, and comfort.

6. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and sustainability practices.

7. Present design concepts to stakeholders and clients.

8. Undertake any ad-hoc assignments as and when required by superior.

Skills Required:

1. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or any related).

2. Strong knowledge of materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.

3. Creative and innovative thinking with an eye for aesthetics.

4. Strong sketching and 3D modeling skills.

5. Understanding of sustainability in design.

6. Project management and teamwork abilities.

Academic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, or related field.

2. Certifications in CAD modeling, woodworking, or furniture engineering are a plus.

3. Portfolio showcasing previous furniture design projects.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,700.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
