The Social Commerce Team is a fast-growing team leading the way in livestream selling, short video content, and affiliate marketing across Southeast Asia. As the Video & Content Production team, we are the creative engine of Intrepid, responsible for crafting visual narratives that capture audience attention and drive conversion in a fast-paced digital environment.

The part you will play

Intrepid is seeking a talented Video & Content Production Team Lead to oversee our creative output and production operations in Malaysia. Acting as a key leader within the Social Commerce division, this role focuses on scaling our production capabilities, elevating the quality of our content, and managing a talented team of creators and producers. You will bridge the gap between creative vision and commercial success, ensuring our video assets and livestream productions consistently perform at the highest level across platforms like TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada.

As a Video & Content Production Team Lead, you will take charge of leading the production department to deliver high-impact content that meets business targets and creative excellence:

• Production Leadership & Operational Excellence
• Oversee the end-to-end production lifecycle—from concept development and pre-production to filming and post-production
• Define and implement production workflows to increase output efficiency without compromising quality
• Manage content and video studio operations, equipment lifecycle, and technical standards to ensure professional broadcast quality for all livestream and video projects
• Commercial & Production Management
• Own the commercial management of the video production function, ensuring production resources are deployed efficiently to support team revenue and P&L objectives
• Manage production capacity, resource allocation, and utilization across projects to maximize team productivity and commercial output
• Work with the Social Commerce Lead and commercial teams to scope production requirements, estimate resource needs, and develop production plans aligned with client budgets and business objectives
• Contribute to forecasting and budgeting for the video production function, ensuring resource and cost plans support the overall Social Commerce P&L
• Creative Direction & Content Quality
• Lead the video creative direction, ensuring all content is brand-aligned, trend-responsive, and optimized for social commerce conversion
• Set and maintain high creative standards; conduct regular quality reviews to ensure consistency across different brand accounts
• Translate data insights into creative briefs to optimize video performance (e.g., hooks, pacing, call-to-actions)
• Team Management & Development
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of creative producers, videographers, editors, and production assistants
• Foster a high-performance culture that encourages creative experimentation, collaborative brainstorming, and professional growth
• Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure the team can meet project deadlines and volume demands
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Social Commerce Lead and Marketing teams to align video content strategies with overall campaign goals

Requirements

What we are looking for - the ideal profile

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related creative field
• Experience:
• 5+ years in video production, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or senior role (managing teams/creatives)
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality content, specifically for social media (TikTok/Reels) and livestreaming
• Deep understanding of the technical side of production (camera, lighting, audio, editing) and the platform-specific nuances of e-commerce
• Experience with e-commerce operations and marketing merchandising
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and grow a creative team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Mindset: A strategic creative who understands that content must not only look good but also perform commercially
