Quitting job via email or phone text is wrong on every level. Yet, this method has sadly become commonly used by employees. No one can understand why they can't submit a resignation letter the normal way. Aren't they aware that they're burning bridges with that kind of mistake? Maybe they just don't know that they still need a recommendation list after leaving their job. Whatever it is, you cannot simply quit just like that. Not only does your current employment end on a sour note, it might have an effect on any of your future job applications. What happens if a company runs a background check and gets notified of your horrid way of resigning? So bear in mind that how you quit or resign will affect you one in day in the future.

With that being said, here is a compilation of some terrible resignation methods.

1. The Angry Hulk

Think of those dramatic movie scenes that we've seen on tv, where someone goes into Hulk-mode, flipping tables and throwing things around before yelling at everyone. Do not ever use that as an example when you want to quit your job. Chances are that you'll put yourself in a very embarassing situation: someone will get security to throw you out, and if you've destroyed anything during your outburst, the cost of it will be yours to bear. Now that you're obviously out of a job, imagine having to fork out money to pay for all the broken stuff. Besides, if you find yourself in a pinch and your only option is to go back to your previous company, they'll never take you back. Your meltdown will be the office talk for years to come.

2. Mr. (Not) Nice Guy

Beware the two-faced person! Some employees smile on the outside but harbor bad thoughts about his or her job on the inside. Sooner or later, their negative thoughts will influence the way they do their job, and if they get laid off by the company for their actions, prepare to see a long rant about how unfair the company has been to them on their social media sites. This may be good way for them to call attention to their problems, but if they had written anything that hurts the company's image, remember that the company can issue a legal summons to that person. So always be careful if you post anything about the company you're working for on social media sites. Everyone likes to make things go viral for that few minutes of fame nowadays, but remember that whatever you post online has it's consequences. Be responsible.

3. Totally Weird Methods

Some people try to resign as creatively as they can, and there's no harm in that, as long as you don't harm any company employees, assets or reputation. Examples of creative resignations come in the form of the icing on a cake, to breaking out the news to your boss via a choir, or even via national tv. Some pen poetry or simply leave a note saying that they've quit. These methods aren't terrible, but I don't recommend that anyone follow them, unless you already have a backup career plan, or are creative to the point where it won't annoy the employer that you're handing your "letter" in to.
