Congratulations! You've finally received an offer letter after a long and tiring process of applying to several job ads. This is your first deal! Fresh graduates out there who are about to embark a new job, you must not know what to do or what to prepare right? Hold on, don't get too excited. Once you get an offer, this is the correct way to respond.

1. Respond ASAP

The interviewer will send you an email with an offer letter for you to sign. Be sure to read through the details and check if everything written in the offer letter is same as what they had offered you verbally. Once you have read and verifies that everything is correct, don't delay your response! Respond straightaway if they don't give an exact end date for you. Remember the term, "you snooze, you lose?"

2. Notify all other prospective employers

You want to be respectful of all the hiring managers that you've sent your resume to out there. Once you've received an offer, do drop them a notification that you're withdrawing your application due to an acceptance from another employer. This is not courtesy, but it gives them time to look for someone else to fill the role.

3. Read the paperwork carefully

There are some organizations that require you to sign and complete specific documents. They call it an acceptance paperwork and it's very important. You should read through the documents carefully and keep some copies for future references. Make sure you've read the offer letter, benefits information, employee handbook, non-complete agreements and more. You should be aware of the terms that you're agreeing to.

4. Plan your budget

You're a fresh graduate who is about to begin your first job, so it's impossible to have backup money in your savings account right? You'll want to be wise with this new income. Once you already know how much you'll earn, start making a monthly budget and don't forget to include your rental, transportation, student loan, insurance, savings and others.

5. Be sure to say thank you

No one ever succeeds without the help of others. So make sure to thank everyone who helped you get your job. Call them and thank them while sharing the good news with them. Be sure to also thank the recruiter who recommended you as well as the interviewer.
