Today more than 26,000 agents, ten insurance companies, three banks and telcos are participating in one of the largest e-commerce portals in the country. The significant landmark of RM 1 billion worth of premium was attained in less than ten months of implementation. e-Cover is a successful case of the Government's leadership and role in ensuring the wide-scale adaptation of ICT and pushing towards a knowledge-based economy while enabling the private sector to develop innovative technological applications. The statistics also endorse the widespread acceptance and relevance of Rexits products and services and vindicating the ICT infrastructure that Rexit has carefully put in place in the data-center. Agents are able to apply or renew insurance policies on behalf of their clients on a 24X7 basis in a secured and authenticated environment that the Government has specified. Electronic payments are at the convenience of the agents. All stages of processing can be relayed to the agents and their customers to mobile devices through SMS. Insurers have benefited from the speed of implementations and reducing their time-to-market while providing real-time monitoring and managing of the agents as required by regulations Since January 2005 Rexit has expanded the features of e-Cover to enable transactions of other classes of General Insurance such as: Fire Marine Foreign Workers Insurance Guarantee (FWIG) Drivers and Passengers Personal Accident (DPPA) We have added functions such as Hire Purchase application to financial institutions and No Claim Discount (NCD). More features will be added to enhance the role of the agents.
