Job Description

Requirements

  • Prepare and cook Malay à la carte dishes according to customers’ orders.
  • This position is open to Malaysian citizens only.
  • Ensure each dish is prepared according to the required recipes, portions, and quality standards.
  • Prepare raw ingredients before operations begin.
  • Ensure food is cooked properly and prepared within the required time.
  • Monitor and control the usage of raw ingredients to minimise wastage.
  • Check the remaining stock of raw ingredients and inform management when stock is running low.
  • Ensure raw ingredients are used according to the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Ensure all raw ingredients are properly labelled, stored, and handled.
  • Conduct daily stock checks and assist in preparing stock usage records when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas.
  • Ensure food and raw ingredients are stored according to hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Ensure customers’ orders are prepared accurately and presented neatly.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties when required.
  • Clean and tidy the kitchen area after operations.
  • Follow all instructions and SOPs set by management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook Malay à la carte dishes according to customers’ orders.
  • Prepare dishes such as fried rice, fried noodles, bihun, kuey teow, side dishes, and other Malay dishes according to the restaurant’s menu.
  • Ensure each dish follows the required recipe, portion, taste, and quality standards.
  • Prepare raw ingredients by cutting, cleaning, weighing, and organising ingredients before operations begin.
  • Ensure food is prepared quickly, hygienically, and neatly, especially during peak hours.
  • Monitor the use of raw ingredients and minimise food wastage.
  • Conduct daily stock checks and inform management when stock is running low.
  • Ensure raw ingredients are stored properly and follow the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas at all times.
  • Comply with hygiene SOPs, food safety standards, and management instructions.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties when required.
  • Clean and tidy the kitchen area after operations.
