Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Tax Management
Manage tax matters, compliance and tax risk across Singapore, Malaysia and key APAC markets, including Southeast Asia, Australia and Hong Kong.
2. Tax Compliance
Manage and/or review Corporate Income Tax, GST/SST, Withholding Tax (WHT) and other tax compliance matters, and liaise with tax authorities such as IRAS and LHDN / HASiL and external tax advisors.
3. Cross-Border Tax Advisory
Analyse the tax implications of cross-border procurement, sales, IT/Cloud services, technical services, equipment transactions and financing arrangements, including WHT, DTA, PE, indirect tax and corporate income tax.
4. Transfer Pricing & Related-Party Transactions
Review related-party transactions, including sales, purchases, services, management fees, intercompany loans and interest, and assist with Transfer Pricing policies and documentation.
5. Contract & Transaction Structuring
Review Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, Loan Agreements and Intercompany Agreements from a tax perspective, and provide tax input on major business transactions and cross-border structures.
6. Tax Planning & Risk Management
Support regional tax planning in a compliant manner, identify and manage tax risks, and provide practical tax analysis and recommendations to management.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business, Law or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably in International Tax, Regional Tax or Cross-Border Tax.
2. Strong knowledge of Singapore and Malaysia tax, including Corporate Income Tax, GST/SST, Withholding Tax, DTA and Transfer Pricing.
3. Experience with tax matters across Southeast Asia, Australia, Hong Kong or other APAC markets is highly preferred.
4. Hands-on experience in cross-border transactions, related-party transactions, Transfer Pricing, cross-border financing, IT/Cloud, Data Centre or hardware trading is preferred.
5. Strong ability to independently research tax laws and DTAs and translate tax requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.
6. Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to independently review English tax legislation, tax guidance and commercial agreements. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA Singapore, CTA or CPA are preferred.
Work location: Flexible / Negotiable
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
