Role Description The International Trade Compliance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore. This role is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, including import/export controls, customs requirements, and sanctions regimes relevant to IOR/EOR operations. The specialist reviews and validates documentation for cross-border shipments, coordinates permits and licenses, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners such as customs brokers and logistics providers. Daily tasks include conducting compliance screenings, maintaining accurate records, supporting audits, and advising stakeholders on regulatory changes and risk mitigation. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of trade compliance processes and supports training efforts to promote a strong compliance culture.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export compliance requirements.
- Experience with IOR/EOR operations, trade documentation, and permit/license management.
- Proficiency in data analysis, record-keeping, and using compliance or ERP systems to track global shipments.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
- Ability to interpret regulatory updates, assess compliance risks, and propose practical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field; relevant trade compliance certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a multinational or logistics environment and familiarity with Asia-Pacific trade regulations are beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ethical and compliant business practices.
